Meet the Experts at Bishops Carpet One in Ithaca, NY

David F. Pirko, Owner/President of DFP Flooring Inc.

Dave started working for Bishops as a delivery boy in 1967. After graduating from Ithaca College in 1969 he became the manager of the paint department. He then held positions as the Store Manager, Director of Advertising, Vice President, and finally as the Senior Vice President. In 2003 he purchased the floor and window covering segments of the business as they are known today. In that time he served 2 terms on the Pro Hardware advisory committee.

Dave has three sons. The two oldest have gone out on their own in Washington DC, and the third now works at the store after graduating from college. He has been a baseball and bowling coach for his sons, and is also an honored member of the Dryden Fire Department.

Thomas Pirko, Vice President; Marketing, PR & Sales

Tom has been working at Bishops since he was 14, working on breaks from school. He worked for a short period at Kmart in Cortland, and Ide's Bowling Alley. After graduating from Keuka College in 2007 he came home and stepped in on a full-time role at the store. In 2010 he was hired full time as a firefighter for the City of Ithaca. In 2020 Tom retired from the Fire Department to take over the store at their new location on Elmira Road.
